Carol MACDONALD Obituary
Born in 1931 to Stella (née Piché) and Francis (Frank) DuFresne of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. She graduated from S.S.Marie Collegiate Institute and completed her first two years of college at the Michigan College of Mining & Technology. She later completed her B.A. at the University of Victoria, B.C. Carol worked as a student assistant at the Forestry Lab in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, while attending college and then as a permanent Forest Research Technician. She transferred to Victoria, B.C. in 1965, where she worked at the Pacific Forest Research Centre until her retirement in 1988. In retirement, she enjoyed working as a volunteer docent at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria for many years and appreciated the people she worked with. Carol was predeceased by her sisters Helen Miller (Merritt), and Loretta Kozak (Tom), brothers Maurice DuFresne (Isabelle), Lawrence DuFresne (Ruth), Bert DuFresne (Suzanne), first husband John Lawko and second husband D. Ross Macdonald. She leaves behind her dear daughter Tracey Lawko (Peter Blaiklock), son Mark Lawko, grandsons Spencer Blaiklock (Jessica), Richard Lawko (Charlene), Nathan Lawko (Jen), 6 great grandchildren, and Ross's children Tara and Fraser. A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at a later date. Donations in Carol's name to the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
