Charles JORDAN Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, Charles Jordan on Monday, February 3rd in Duncan, BC at the age of 85. We will remember you.
Charles was predeceased in 2020 by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor, as well as his father Charles Sr., mother Dorothy, and younger brother David.
He is survived by children Brenda, Gail (Rob), Brett (Karen) and Duane (Sherie), 7 grandchildren (Robbie, Tania, Sean-Marc, Marcus, Naomi, Kyle and Brianna), 6 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews all of whom he loved beyond words.
Charles was a descendant of an original homestead family in the Cowichan Valley. Born in a time of war, he was named after his great uncle who died fighting at Passchendaele. Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming. In 1960 he would meet Eleanor, the love of his life, and start a family in Sahtlam, where he stayed for the remainder of his days.
Chuck worked tirelessly in the woods until 1964 when he went to work at Youbou Sawmill. He would remain there until the mill closed in 2001 at which time he took over farming at the family cattle ranch.
After the death of David, his only sibling, Eleanor's family and extended family would become even more important. Gordie would be at the top of that list, visiting regularly, helping around the farm and calling him religiously when the Canucks won.
Some of his favourite memories were of family campouts at Stolz pool, fishing trips to Stella Lake, dancing with Eleanor and his daughters at the family Christmas parties, and road trips visiting family especially those to the Jordan Ranch at Tatla Lake.
Special thanks must go out to Dr. Ibraham, as well as the paramedics, and the many doctors/nurses on 3 South at Cowichan District Hospital that treated him in his final days. We would not have gotten through it without them. A special shout-out to Dad's roommate Jim who made Dad's final days just a little bit brighter.
Also, thanks to Dad for fighting so hard and giving us all that last good day. It is the best gift you have ever given any of us and we hold those memories in our thoughts and hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st at the Vimy Hall on Gibbins Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation.

My deepest condolences to all the family as they deal with the loss of their dear father.
I have very fond memories of the many years I lived at Sahtlam with my husband, Ed Martineau and our four children. I will always remember the times we would have fun get togethers with the many family members. Those were the best times!
I will always remember Chuck for his cheerfulness and infectious laughter. He was a great guy!
