I knew Dave way back when I did my JLC in 1984. Later on, we connected again to produce the Pacific Tattoo. Great sailor with much energy and ideas. We had a great time working together. We will miss him. Cheers mate.

My condolences on the passing of Mr. Tarry

I fondly remember him as Karen´s father when I taught her at Millstream Elementary.

I would see him at Parent Teacher Conferences and he was always so proud of Karen´s overall progress.

Karen was a delightful student to teach which would make any parent proud!

Sincerely,

So very sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. I still treasure the superb sketch Dave made for me as an old Sub Lieutenant with cane patiently awaiting promotion. The promotion finally arrived.

A fine shipmate, it was an honour to serve with him.

Sorry to hear this. I knew Dave first when he was Deputy Commandant of the CF Officer Candidate School when it was in Chilliwack. His guidance to me as a newly-arrived company commander, designated to assume his job a year later - was superb. I watched him the next year organize and run the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Tattoo of CFB Chilliwack - again a superb job. When I retired to the Island he is the one who arranged as a realtor our new house on a mountain in East Sooke. In all of these, he was unstinting in his professionalism and knowledge - as well as empathy. My sincere condolences to his family.
