Christopher Brown Obituary
BROWN, Christopher Lawrence
Chris passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. He is predeceased by his parents Leah Muhleman and Charles Brown, and sister Kathy Campbell.
Left to celebrate his life are his partner Barb Brown and her children Karina, Chris and Heather, siblings Carol Brown, Philip Brown (Rita), Loraine Whyte (Scott) and Diane Brown (Anthony), nieces Jennifer Foca, Melanie Foca Richards, nephew Dylan Hahn, and fur friend Hunter.
Chris was born on November 12, 1953 in Victoria B.C. He graduated from Oak Bay High School and then from the University of Victoria in 1975. He spent some time at McGill University before moving to Los Angeles permanently in 1977 and becoming a very gifted computer programmer for over 30 years. He worked for several companies including StarKist Tuna and then Elixir Industries alongside his longtime friend and colleague Roger Grant.
Chris had a wicked sense of humour, and a passion for music. From a young age, he influenced his siblings with his eclectic tastes which ranged from Frank Zappa, Alice Cooper, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham and other jazz fusion artists. In later years, Chris enjoyed golf, friendly poker games, and bowling. It was through his bowling league that he met his partner Barb. Chris and Barb were devout Dodgers fans and attended many home games together over the years. They regularly journeyed to Canada to see Chris's side of the family and to Bishop California to see Barb's side.
He was also very involved in his niece's and his nephew's lives. Chris would often go skiing with nieces Jenny and Melanie when they were growing up, and would visit every weekend. He took his nephew Dylan bowling and often to Boomers for Go Carting and games, and of course several visits to Disneyland.
Chris lived a full life that was cut short. He will be deeply missed. His spirit will live on through the many people that he touched.
The family would like to thank the medical staff of Cedars Sinai Hospital, Mike Cerda, and Cynthia Gerst for their care and dedication. If you wish to honour Chris's memory, please make a donation to a worthy cause in his name.
