Christopher Eng Obituary

Christopher Eng (August 20 1972 - October 10 2025) passed away at Louis Brier Home and Hospital at the age of 53. He is survived by his loving mother, Wendy, his sisters Janelle (Russel), Kathy (Connie), Denise (Amy) and his beloved nephew Ben and niece Abigail. In spite of being diagnosed with a brain tumor at an early age, his health difficulties did not diminish his enthusiasm and joy for life. He maintained a lifelong interest in the outdoors and wildlife, musicals, gardening, cooking, Lego and of course, eating good food. While later in life he had to cope with the effects of several strokes, there was always a smile on his face and a ready laugh. He endured his condition and the constant watchful eye of his sisters and mother with grace and good humour. In his own words, "Life is wonderful, I'll always adapt". He will be missed by many.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to those who took care of him and provided companionship, the staff at Glengarry Hospital in Victoria, Louis Brier Home in Vancouver, Elaine Holmes and Conrad Sullivan.

In lieu of a service the family requests that donations be made to SPCA.

To the Eng family: my sincere condolences for your loss. I was very glad to have reconnected with Chris on Facebook a few years ago. I have great memories of him from Magee, and will cherish the messages we sent back and forth over the past few years. Rest in peace Chris.

Christopher gave me a squirt animal toy when I was in the hospital with instructions that if the nurses gave me a bad time I could squirt them with water.
I never had to use it but it meant a lot to me coming from someone who could empathize.

I meet Chris while visiting my sister at Glengarry Hospital. We sat and talked numerous times about our families. My condolences to his family and friends.

Wendy, Janelle, Kathy, Denise, Ben and Abigail. Christopher was a treasure! We got to know him when my husband worked at RBCM. I don't doubt that, in particular, Ben and Abigail were well-loved. Long after he left RBCM, we would get an annual notice that he had Halloween treats for our daughter. Christopher was consistently upbeat despite the challenges he faced. Sending love and condolences, Cheryl and Ken
