Christopher FREEMAN Obituary

Fondly known as Doey by his mates, Terry, 83, passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC. Born on December 14, 1941, in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, to W.P. Freeman and E.M. Freeman (née Mariner), Terry was one of four sons in a hard-working family. He worked globally for many years before immigrating to Canada in 1974.
With his large heart and personality, he brought joy, cheer, and laughter into the lives of those around him. A skilled tradesman, he worked on landmark projects that shaped British Columbia, including BC Place Stadium, The Empress Hotel, the Vancouver Stock Exchange Building, the Port Mann and Alex Fraser Bridges, as well as various mining and hydroelectric projects across BC. He leaves behind not only memorable and long-lasting structures but also relationships built as strong as the steel he erected.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Lois, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. He leaves behind his daughter, Maria Mann (née Freeman), and three sons: Sean, Dave, and Miles. In England, he is survived by Brian, Kevin, his late brother Michael, along with many nieces and nephews. In the US, he leaves his loving nieces Lisa and Denise.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Royal Colwood Golf Course at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to the Victoria Hospice Society (victoriahospice.org).
