I was Chris and Darren's babysitter and neighbour. This was a time when I got to know the boys and grew fond of them both. I am grateful for this time as I feel it gave us a lifelong connection. In more recent years I have the greatest memory of sitting on lawn chairs in my mother's driveway drinking beers with Chris and laughing and talking the night away. What a great guy! Living in Vancouver I have always been grateful to Chris who acted as Mom's (Charlotte's) night watchman. Chris chased more than a few people away and for that I am truly grateful. Maybe they will meet up again with Mona too!
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends of Chris'. To grieve is to know love.

Chris was a good person, kind, gentle, caring, a lover of nature and animals. Of course he loved golf and he made some great homemade wine that he liked to share. He was a good neighbour to our family and in particular was so kind and helpful to our mother, Charlotte. He always offered her assistance and kept the trespassers at bay with her property in the middle of the night which was a sense of comfort for mum. Mum loved talking with Chris in the early morning hours when she was at the door getting her Times Colonist and she especially loved that he would bring his beloved pet dog Nicky over to visit her for treats. Sometimes he or his mother Mona would bake some great German cakes and share with us. I am saddened by his loss but know he is with his mother and other family now and will be at peace with that. Goodbye Chris and you will always be remembered for the wonderful person you were. love and hugs to the family, Deb
