Cindy June Jones

JONES, Cindy June November 6, 1959 to November 20, 2016 Passed away after a lengthy illness. Beloved daughter of Ray and Marilyn Jones, brother Ken (Paula), niece Valerie (James) and most cherished mother to the love of her life, her daughter Samantha (boyfriend Luke). Cindy attended Oak Bay High School and later in life graduated from the Criminal Justice program at Camosun College. She was a free spirit who cycled through Europe and the Middle East and travelled to Guam where she met and married Samantha's father Tom. Cindy was a gentle soul with a kind heart who enjoyed people and made life long friends with ease; she strived for justice and peace by advocating for the poor, homeless and those with mental illness. She cherished her time together with her brother Ken when they would reminisce about their childhood and giggle together. Cindy is finally at peace and smiling down upon us while she is busy getting used to the chafing of her new angel wings. A celebration of her life will be held on December 10th at Christ Church Cathedral, 930 Burdett Ave at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Victoria Hospice, their warm care enabled Samantha to lovingly carry out her Mom's wishes to remain at home for as long as possible.
