TAYLOR, Dallas (nee Homer-Dixon) Died peacefully in Dundas, Ontario on January 11, 2005 at the age of 90. Dallas leaves her children Susan Carlson, Peter Taylor and his wife Mary Moogk, Tim Taylor and his wife Claire and Penelope Hudson. She leaves her adored grandchildren Janet, Stephen, Leif, Jennifer, Francesca, Alexandra, Adam, Mark, Christopher and Philip and her great grandchildren Max, Aiden, Alexandra, Anika and Olivia. She is also survived by her baby brudder Douglas HomerDixon of Victoria. Dallas was born in Toronto on July 2, 1914. She lived in Winnipeg and Victoria before travelling to England to work in London during World War II. After the war she married Paul Taylor and became passionately immersed in the life of a naval wife. This resulted in her living in Ottawa, Victoria, Washington, DC, London, England and Hamilton, Ontario. It was in the Hamilton area that Dallas spent her last 44 years. As a manifestation of her lifelong love of the arts, she was for many years actively engaged with the National Ballet of Canada. In addition to her involvement with the Hamilton Branch she contributed to the development of the National Ballet School. Dallas was a cook extraordinaire who believed that most problems could be solved with good food. She was well known for her parties, her twinkle, her storytelling and her ability to put people at ease. The family would like to acknowledge the tremendous support of the caregivers at the Hamilton CCAC, VON and Paramed for helping Dallas conclude her life in her own home. In particular, we recognize the support of Tammy Hendsebee whose professional dedication to and love for Dallas were exceptional. A memorial visitation will be held in the J.B. Marlatt Family Centre, 195 King Street East, Dundas, Ontario from 2-5 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2005. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dallas's name to The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. 28885
