Dear Sandi, Chantal and Tiffany,
My sincere condolences for your loss - Mr. Hess was always a ray of kindness that I remember fondly from my teenage years. Any time I interacted with him I ended up with a smile. As a picky teen, it was thanks to Mr. Hess's kind insistence one dinner at your place that I discovered I love beetroots (but I wouldn't have tried them were it not for him). I'm sure he'll be missed terribly. Hugs to you and your families.

I remember meeting my 'Hess family' after becoming friends with Chantal in university. I had recently lost my own Dad and Danny assured me that he would always be there as a 'fill in' Papa for me if I needed anything- it might very been one of the only serious conversions we had as he was always joking around and making me laugh, but it meant so much. Sending deepest condolences to my Hess family. I'm so glad that you guys have such a beautiful family connection and i know that Danny probably felt comforted knowing that you would lean on each other during this sad time. I am heartbroken for all of you and so, so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. We haven't seen you all for years but we will never forget you. We had some wonderful memories of camping & fun times in Victoria. Our family were all very sad to hear.They all Loved him. As Bruce & I did.

Dear Sandi,Chantel,Tiffany and family, Andrea and I are sorry to hear of Dannys passing.
To say Danny was one of a kind would be an understatement.
The Bay Boy was so entertaining!
Being two years younger i followed his rugby exploits at Victoria High School and played Vampire football with him.
He umpired one of our softball games years later that turned into a bench clearing brawl.
He did manage to get things under control .
We have such great memories of our time in Victoria with all of you at Lambrick Park.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolences to the family .. I met "Dan" while working at BCSC on Menzies in the very late 70's .. he was such a funny guy, always had a joke .. but at the same time very serious and dedicated to his job. .. R.I.P. Dan

We feel very happy to have known and loved Danny!
We enjoyed many great laughs with him! Especially when he sat in our kitchen getting his hair turned into the Afro that he wore forever after ! You will be missed Dano - give my guy a hug from me!

Sending condolences to his family. We worked with Danny at BCSC for many years. He was proud of his two daughters and family. Yes he did make you laugh. Danny was a great organizer along with Gary. I remember the "Danny and Gary" golf tournament . He will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers.

Family and friends of Dan,
Had the pleasure of knowing Dan from our youthful days growing up in James Bay.
Chance meetings in later years were infrequent, but thankfully, it gave us time to reflect back on a bygone era when life was simple and friends were cherished growing up.
