Daniel Macbeth Obituary

MACBETH, Daniel (Dan) William
Dan died at home October 3, 2025. Predeceased by his mother Jeanne Macbeth. Dan is survived by his father Bill Macbeth, his wife Rosalind Macbeth, son Fraser Macbeth and stepchildren Tiana Nielson, Conrad Nielson, Elyse Murphy; grandchildren Ethan, Stavros, Katherine, Max, Rileyn; great grandson Greyson; nephew Peter Macbeth and sister Julia Macbeth.
Victoria High grad, Horticultural Centre of the Pacific grad.
Dan was a 30 year employee at City of Victoria and a strong Cupe 50 and Cupe B.C. activist. Along with his union fellows he fought for workers rights and dignity every day. This was his passion. Before his recent retirement he served as Regional Vice President Cupe B.C. for Vancouver Island. Dan liked nothing better than to hold forth while drinking a beer and smoking his cigarette. He was proud to have been one of the garden volunteers at Government House in 1994 and to have been invited to the dedication ceremony by then Lieutenant Governor David Lam.

Yesterday

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Dan. Dan introduced me to the Union world and was a strong support for me whenever I needed something. From working together at the City of Victoria Parks Department, to spending time at the Vancouver Island District Council, CUPE BC meetings, and of course CUPE Local 50 meetings, we got to know each other well. He always spoke highly of his family. Dan was a guy that I would always look forward to running into. We shared a lot of laughs and a few cold ones along the way. Will miss you, Dan.
