Daniel McVie Obituary

McVIE, Daniel John January 17, 1953 - February 1, 2022 Danny passed away peacefully at his home on February 1, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Angela, brother-in-law, James, and nephews, Stephen and David. A quiet, mild-mannered guy, Danny will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Danny was a skilled carpenter, known for his meticulous work. His pride in his work showed in the clinker-built rowboat he lovingly restored and maintained. Danny enjoyed rowing it on the Gorge waterway, and often went as far as the Inner Harbour. Danny loved classic wooden boats, a passion he shared with his father, Richard (Rick), who passed away in 2017. Danny is also predeceased by his mother, Margaret (2004), and his brother, Roy (2020). Firstly, my condolences to the family regarding Danny's passing and my apology for using this time to inquire about his deceased brother Roy.

Roy and I grew up together in Esquimalt from elementary school to graduation from Esquimalt Senior. Our families and many other families at that time all lived and hung out in the same neighbourhood.

I was surprised to read of Roy´s passing as mentioned in Danny´s obituary. I would deeply appreciate hearing from anyone out there regarding Roy's passing.

Sincerely,

Muriel Farrell
