Daniel WILLOCK Obituary

Dan was born in Victoria on June 11, 1953, and passed to spend eternity with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on July 30, 2020, with his wife and children at his side.

Dan was the oldest child born to Josie and Archie Willock. He was a loving husband for 39 years to Barbara, dedicated Dad to Geoff, Elizabeth and Christina Marie Amos, fascinating father-in-law to Krystle Willock and Doug Ford, and a delightful, wild and crazy Papa to his grandchildren Ethan and Isaac Willock, Caedmon Kovacs and Elijah and Tristan Ford. Many of his happiest moments were spent playing with his children and grandchildren.

Dan was a master mechanic, serving his automotive apprenticeship under his father. His love for moving fast poured over into race cars, running, and later, taking up cycling after age 50. Hosting the Thursday night ride out of the family garage for many years and being a part of the running and racing communities, brought many rich friendships which impacted him greatly. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church family for 38 years and Dan was thankful for their ongoing love and support.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of servanthood, shenanigans, and noisy stories at family dinners. He will be missed by his mother Josie Willock, brother Marty and wife Sonya, brother Bernie and wife Marlene, sister Shelley and husband John Neuendorf, along with many other cherished relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Archie Willock and stepdaughter Christina Marie Amos.

At Dan’s request, there will be no service. Please connect with someone who knew him and share a memory and a laugh. We look forward to seeing him again on the other side.

I was shocked to learn of Dan's recent passing. He was far too young to leave this earth, but we have no control over our destiny.
I knew Dan from Western Speedway. He was one of the happiest men I ever knew. He had a laugh that was infectious and a smile that could light up a room. I spent countless hours at the McConnell's farm watching the men work on the race car that brought so much joy to all of us. I attended many races, parties, team events, and weddings with the group and Dan always kept us entertained.

Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to meet Barbara but my heart breaks for her and their family. Dan was a true treasure.

I have many fond memories with big Danno. We spent a lot of time together wrenching at the dealership, I took in all of his knowledge that he was offering when I was apprenticing. His patience with me were astounding. He has been a mentor in many ways to me. I always appreciated his guidance. Our coffee breaks were always a great time to BS. Hanging out and choking back Coors light in the garage were awesome times. I will miss him very much and my love and condolences go out to the Willock family. See you on the other side brother.

I have fond memories of growing up with Danny and being part of the crazy Cordova Bay gang that hung out at the Parkview store. We lost touch after high school but reconnected a few years later through running. He was an excellent athlete, a tough competitor, and an honorable and gracious man.
Rest In Peace Dan.

I have so many wonderful memories of hanging at the beach in Cordova Bay and always being welcomed at the Willock home. I am so happy that I got to see Danny at his dad's celebration of life. We shared many laughs reminiscing about the good times we all had.
Sending lots of love to the Willock family ❤❤

Danny was a dear friend for years growing up in Cordova Bay. I remember when the Willocks moved to their house on the beach , I met Martin first and was so excited a family from town was moving into our small community. I don’t think anyone could have had a better life than all of us and made even more so by the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Willock. I learned to always be kind and enjoy my own children’s friends the way they always treated us. Thank you to all the Willocks for your friendship, sometimes when I’m on a beach I have memories pop into my head and smile for hours remembering. Danny was so much fun , thank goodness he became a Grandfather, he was made for that lol
