David CARTER Obituary

David Carter, February 16, 1969 - June 1, 2025. David died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital after a brief but valiant battle against liver disease. David was predeceased by his father Reg Carter and sister Judy Bryan (Carter). He is survived by his mother Beverly Carter (Clem Poff); his brother Doug Carter (Anita); brother-in-law Brad Bryan; nieces Laurie Bryan and Katie Honkanen (Jesse) and great niece Georgia.
David was born in Victoria and it remained his home his entire life where he attended Strawberry Vale, Colquitz and Spectrum Schools. After high school David tried his hand at a variety of jobs in the construction industry, eventually finding his way to the concrete industry where he enjoyed a long career as a talented and sought after finisher. Strong willed and independent David made his way through life on his own terms and was never afraid to take the path less travelled. David overcame many obstacles during his life and the family is particularly proud of the strength of character and resilience he showed during his final months.
The one constant in David's life was the love for his dogs. He could be found almost daily at the Colwood Creek Dog Park.
The family also wants to acknowledge long time friends Scott Griffiths, Sean Middleton and Tom Adamcsak for their loyal support of David throughout his life's journey.

Gone but not forgotten - rest in peace David.

I was very saddened to hear of Dave´s passing. He was a fixture in our house growing up during our teenage years. Life happens and peoples lives get busy so I lost touch with Dave up until I bumped into him and his dog on a walk. He recognized me and came over giving me a big hug. I would see him here and there and always stopped to chat. The last time I seen Dave he was standing outside in front of my dad´s house looking like he was reminiscing of old times. It was then I had to tell him my dad had passed away the week before. I could see the sadness in his eyes. Dave had a big heart and always took tIme to chat. You will be missed. Condolences to his family.

Oh this is sad news! I´ve seen Dave several times through the years and he did some concrete for me with his little sidekick to oversee his work (his dog). Big guy with a bigger heart! Dave spent a lot of time hanging out with the Haun sisters during our teen years. Lots of fun memories to remember! RIP Dave! Thanks for the memories Condolences to Dave´s family and close friends.
