David Earthy Obituary

EARTHY, David William David William Earthy passed away on April 13, 2009 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mildred Earthy. Born in Duncan, B.C. on August 12, 1949, David grew up in Victoria. He was always involved in sports: mainly baseball, soccer and golf. He played in many golf tournaments as an amateur all over BC. He had been a member at Eagelcrest in Qualicum Beach. He is survived by his daughter Jodi Donaldson, his son Marcel Lirette and granddaughter Brianna Donaldson. Also his sister, Susan Hallat and brother Chris Earthy. David had been spending his winters in the Dominican and had found happiness with his "Dominican family". His funeral and burial was held in Puerto Plata on Friday, April 18th There will be a memorial gathering in Qualicum for David in August to celebrate his life and his 60th birthday. I know it´s late to say goodbye to Dave but here I am doing so regardless. Dave and I grew up together in Cadboro Bay as teenagers and we had great times together with Al Edwards and Donny McPherson and other brats in the Village. Dave was a sweet guy and I´m sorry we drifted apart after I went to Oak Bay High. I would love to reconnect with Al and Donny and the rest of the the "crew". David and I dated in my teens...I will always remember him as a very kind and generous man. I will carry many great memories of time spent together. My sincerest condolences go to his family. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
