My sympathy to the family of Dr. Harris. I received my Master of Arts degree in history at the University of Western Ontario many years ago. I recall being a Teaching Assistant for one of his classes during my first year and valued his lectures, which were full of great information with some humorous asides. But he also gave me some excellent advice on how to deal with the intricacies of surviving graduate school that has served me well through my PhD. He was knowledgeable and kind to a very nervous new grad student and I will always remember him.

Dear Karen:
We were sad to learn of David's passing. We only knew David as the nice man - with the walking sticks - that kept us company around the reservoir every once in awhile as we walked our dog. He subsequently introduced us to you and what a happy and sweet a couple you were. 16 years ago, I took a group of my friends and we did a tour of his garden - at his insistence - even though he was not home at the time. A very kind, generous, thoughtful gentleman. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely and with love - Lane and Don MacLean and Honey of course.

Karen: What a shock to us to read of David's passing. We always enjoyed his company, his wide number of interests and his generous support of the arts. He will be very much missed.
