FLATMAN, David Howard July 27, 1947 October 14, 2006 David died peacefully in the Jubilee Hospital on October 14, 2006 after battling his many medical problems with his usual stalwart strength. He was born in Victoria and spent most of his life there, going to Monterey Elementary and finishing his schooling at Oak Bay High. He spent most of his last days helping many people to fight their addictions, and in his quiet way was quite successful. He is survived by quite a large family his loving children; daughter, Mary and son, John; his mother, Trudie Flatman, who all live in Victoria; brother, Barry Flatman and his children, Darryl and Samantha Flatman, who live in Toronto; sister, Joyce Bronwen (Pat) Roney, and their children, Megan Roney and Braeden Roney, who live in Port Coquitlam; brother, Trevor Flatman and wife, Jody and their children, Alex and Leah Flatman, who live in Victoria. He leaves many uncles and aunts, especially Uncle Bert Taylor and his large family in Wetaskiwin, Alberta; his special Aunt Marge (101 years) and cousin, Della and husband, Gordon Laverdure who live in Kelowna, B.C. These relatives were very kind to David when he was very sick quite a few years ago. His girlfriend, Louisa, has been a tower of strength for David. Through all his illness, she has been at his side. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of David's life will be held at MCCALL BROS.
