David Gregory Obituary
We regret to inform you that David William Gregory passed away on November 6th at the age of 76. David was born and grew up in Victoria, British Columbia where he studied carpentry and played football before transitioning to commercial tomato farming. From there, he embarked on a career in forestry, starting first as choker setter before starting his main career as a crane operator on a log barge. This career took him up and down the BC coast where he enjoyed seeing the beauty of some of the most remote parts of British Columbia. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, three children, Calia, Nicola (Dan), and Dan (Selina), five grandchildren, Catherine (Matthew), Allyson (Adrian), Elizabeth, Cassandra, and Henrietta, and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Carson. Throughout his life, David was an avid fisherman, delighting in catching a winter's worth of salmon or prawns with many stories of his favourite spots all around Vancouver Island. He felt most at home outside, whether it was assessing the best trees to mill into lumber, planting his garden or picking award-winning blackberries. But most of all, he loved sharing these experiences with his family, from early morning hockey practices to hikes into the mountains, fishing rod in tow, to playing cribbage late into the evening. He was always there for his family, and he will be deeply missed.
