David HUMMEL Obituary
HUMMEL David M. W. Hummel, 73, born March 20, 1931 in Kimberly, British Columbia, Canada, began his journey on heaven's highway, September 4, 2004. David's tenacity for life lead him in many directions. As a young man, David drove a taxi and worked at manual labor to pay for his studies at the University of British Columbia. After graduating law school in 1954, he eventually practiced in Victoria, B.C. He began a transition into real estate development, building private hospitals, a number of apartment buildings & the Red Lion Hotel in Victoria, B.C. David spent many years in Mexico at his hotel the Hacienda Del Lobo with his first wife Patricia, and their two sons. In 1977 he moved to Los Angeles where he later married his second wife, Margarita who had two daughters. In 1994 David & Margarita moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Though David left us much too early, he lived a full & accomplished life. His warm heart & caring nature was felt by many. He willbe greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Margarita, four children, Michael (Kathleen), Christopher, Christine (Terry) & Michele (Dan), eight grandchildren, Brian, Max, Grace, Rachel, Kendra, Katie, Spencer & Nolan, sister Veronica, brother Brian and his former wife Patricia. Services will be held Friday, September 10, 2004 at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd Ave, Surrey, B.C. Canada. Viewing for family & friends is 11-1 pm, with service to follow at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope International, Dry A Tear in Haiti, 214-6th Street, New Westminster, B.C., V3L 3A2 or the National Parkinson Association.
