August 14, 1950 - January 1, 2026
Dave, passed away peacefully at Cowichan Hospice House in Duncan, British Columbia, on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the age of 75 surrounded by his loving wife Sue and family.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Sue, of 55 years, and his sons, who he was extremely proud of: David and Kevin (Debbie), and his grandchildren Raymond and Nikia, who brought him great joy. He will also be remembered by his sister, Alison (David) Antrobus, along with extended family and friends who will miss his steady presence and kind nature. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Don and Jean Jickling.
Dave was born in Victoria, BC and lived his entire life on Vancouver Island. In his younger years Dave was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper, and loved spending time with his sons. He was an accomplished musician, and played in the band The Cellar Sect. He was a veracious reader, and loved listening to jazz music.
Dave became an Automotive Mechanic in 1975, he spent most of his career working for the City of Victoria and retired August 2015.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Cowichan Hospice House for their compassionate care and support during Dave's final days.
Dave will be deeply missed, yet forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's memory may be made to Cowichan Hospice House.
