David KOTORYNSKI Obituary

David, beloved son of Vivian and Walter, brother of Wendy and Kevin (Susan), uncle to Josh and Robyn, died suddenly on June 20, 2025 while hiking in Wells Gray Provincial Park, a place he loved and returned to many times. He is sorely missed by family, cousins, friends and colleagues. Dave graduated from Stelly's Secondary School, received a BA from UVIC and a MA from Dalhousie. With a love for knowledge he continued taking courses earning several certificates. He worked for Butchart Gardens, B.C. Ferries and as an analyst for the B.C. government. Dave enjoyed playing hockey, tennis, music and his guitars as well as kayaking, cycling, traveling, camping and hiking. He loved life and all loved him.
A celebration of life will be held on July 27th. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dave-kotorynski-celebration-of-life-tickets-1489506497029?utm-campaign=social&utm;-content=attendeeshare&utm;-medium=discovery&utm;-term=listing&utm;-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl

Dear Kotorynski Family, I am so very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I worked with him for 20+ years at BC Ferries during which time we had many great conversations and laughs. We would often talk about Volkswagons, he would say he'd like a Westfalia and I would tell him about all the times mine broke down. Such a kind, gentle soul who talked often of his family, it was obvious that he loved you very much. I am so sorry for your loss.
