David Partridge Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David Barry Partridge. Dave was a funny, thoughtful, generous friend who left an impression on everyone he met. Born in Victoria to Christine and Barry Partridge, younger brother to Beth, Dave attended Marigold then Braefoot Elementary, Cedar Hill Junior High before graduating from Mount Doug. Dave played basketball for the Mount Doug Rams and Camosun Chargers. He famously completed a cartwheel-dunk in the Harbour City 3 on 3 slam dunk contest. Popular and kind, Dave had many friends. Everyone gravitated towards him to share a laugh and have fun. Dave enjoyed camping, days at the beach, and endless basketball games. Dave worked as an electrician and then studied mental health and addictions at Camosun College. He wanted to learn how to help others. He was very ill during his last years but he still kept his sense of humour and upbeat attitude. Always quick with a joke, his wit was razor sharp. Dave will be remembered as a son, brother, friend and an all-around great guy who is missed by many.

I lived with Dave for a year at the mansion and he was always consistently so very funny. Some of my favorite jokes during that happy time came from Dave. Will miss you.

David was a beautiful person. Even through his struggles, David always took the time to open his heart and make others feel special. I will miss our conversations and his smile. Rest easy my friend.

Dave will be missed by all who knew him. He was laid back, down to earth and genuine. Dave always had compassion and empathy for those around him and did whatever he could to help people. We shared many laughs and always gave each other a hard time as roommates, this was because we got along great and knew each other well enough to do so. So many fun times together is what I will remember most. Dave had challenges and always fought to overcome them with a tenacity like no other. I will miss seeing his face and the great talks we had. His untimely passing is such a loss to us all and we will forever miss him. My heart goes out to Dave’s family and friend’s during this difficult time.
