I first met David as a young boy and then as a grown man, married to Pam and having his Granny Div living in the house with his family where they could keep am eye on here. For the outlying family it gave us a sense of relief that besides her own , Nancy, Johnny, and Rocky, she had someone else who loved her dearly to watch out for her. God bless you all.

Hello, my name is Geoff Warren.
I am Nancy Patterson´s life partner and (Step father of David Patterson).
I had the pleasure of filling that role from the time Nancy and I Got together
And decided to make our relationship permanent.
From the first time I met David it was obvious how intelligent he was and how loyal and a devoted Husband and family man he was.
I watched him over the years navigate through his busy and hectic life at work rising through the ranks but never losing tract of what was truly important.
Over the years David and I have had some lengthy conversations about a lot of different things, and I thought I knew him well. I was wrong.
At David´s celebration of life, Paul spoke, his co-worker, and friend that got him his start in the computer business, how hard he had to work and the hours he put in to get to where he was and didn´t say anything to us, I realized, and I´m sure many others did as well what a humble man he was.
We had many family dinners, birthdays, family reunions, and camping trips, on one of those camping trips we camped at Little Qualicum Falls which was close to where he was having his prize firebird restored so we decided to pay them a visit to check on what progress had been made. He talked briefly to the owner and brought him over and introduced him to me as Dad.
There is no possible way I could put into words how that made me feel.
When he wound up in the hospital we talked very quietly about a few things and I said my goodbyes and told him that I loved him, one of the things he said to me was, thank you for letting me call you Dad.
All I could say through tear fill eyes, it´s an honor and I´m very proud that you feel that way about me.
You leave behind many loving friends and family members that will forever miss you but your energy will always live on in each and every one of your family members.
Happy trails David where ever that energy leads you.
Your legacy will live on forever.
Geoff Warren.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Dave's passing. I worked for many years with Dave, first at Corporate Accounting Services, and happily throughout the years our paths crossed several times again. It was such a pleasure to work with Dave, not only because of his technical proficiency, but more importantly because of his wonderful style and personality. Dave was calm under pressure, even-tempered and brought a wonderful sense of fun to the workplace. He obviously cared deeply for his family, and always brought a sense of balance and perspective to every situation. I always felt a sense of comfort when I knew Dave was involved in solving one of the many tricky situations that came our way. It's so sad to hear this sad news about Dave and I send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I had the privilege of working for Dave for a decade. Very quickly, he became a trusted mentor. His quiet words of wisdom became the catapult that jumped my career forward. More importantly, he always had my back. Always. We worked together on some rather unconventional projects. But, Dave always had a way of cutting through the noise to get to the root of the issue. He was as personable as he was smart. The kind of trust that I had for Dave is very rare.

He will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the Patterson family.

To Dave´s family and friends I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave for many years at IBM and with the Province. Dave was the `go-to´ guy for so many of us because not only was he technically savvy and could always figure out a way to make things happen, he was always happy to step in and help no matter how busy he was (and he was always busy). Dave was highly respected by all and leaves a huge hole in the community. We will all miss his kindness and patience. Dave `s devotion to his family was obvious. He was definitely one of the good guys.

I had the great pleasure of working with Dave for a number of years up until 2018, and what shone through about Dave was his deep love and appreciation of his family, his sense of integrity, loyalty and dedication to excellence in all he did. He was funny, always kind, and was willing do whatever it took to make things better for everyone. He was a true leader and believed in partnership, and from the moment Dave took something on I knew I never had to worry or think about it again because he was a `get it done´ guy. I could count on Dave not only for his leadership and dedication to service, but for his kindness, his great humour and no matter what, his positive, sunny outlook. I know he will be so greatly missed by all who knew him, none more than his loving family. My deepest condolences to his family and all who were lucky enough to hold him close in life.

My sincere condolences to all of Dave's family and friends. I was privileged to work with Dave on the leadership team at Advanced Solutions and considered him a friend as well. Dave was an awesome leader, respected and liked by his teams, peers and clients. Dave was the brain behind keeping technical infrastructure running to support some of BC's most critical citizen services. When Dave left, there was a large gap felt in the halls of our office. One of my favourite memories of Dave at work was when he would talk about his family and home life in Sooke with his wife, the kids, dogs and car projects. You could tell how much he loved his family. The world needs more Dave's and it is a lesser place without him.
Best wishes to his family and know that many of us who were lucky enough to work with him are thinking of you during this tough time.

Having worked with David since 2011 thru various roles, we established a partnership like relationship (vendor & client). This was due to great understanding and willing he had to go the distance to get things done right that was acceptable to all.

I will always miss David, his pleasing personality and easy to get along with all.

Rest in Peace My Friend.
