David Speirs Obituary
SPEIRS, David Muir July 23, 1927 November 24, 2007 "The Lord has Promised Good to Me... His Word My Hope Secures" David Speirs passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on November 24, 2007. Scottish-born, David emigrated to Canada in 1957. His characteristic humour, sensitivity and love of life touched upon the lives of many during his 80 years. David leaves behind to cherish his memories, beloved wife Dorothy; best buddy, son David; daughters, Jane, Annette and Sharon. His many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A private ceremony will be held with interment to follow at First Memorial "Garden of Memories", 4725 Falaise Drive, Saanich. Many thanks to Dr. Frank Egan and the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital. As expressions of sympathy, the family asks that contributions in David Speirs name be made to the Victoria Hospice in lieu of flowers. 428670Published in the Victoria Times-Colonist on 11/30/07.

I worked for Davey for many years at Metro and I have many happy memories of him and he touched the lives of a large group that enjoyed his sense of humor and keen wit. But I must add that if you were even one minute late getting to work , you new Davey would have something to say.
