Derk Wevers Obituary

Our loving Dad passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2018 at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Born in the Netherlands, he is predeceased by his first wife, Hendrika and his second wife, Peggy. He is survived by his children Charlotte (Clayton), Derk (Paula), Tymen (Martina) and 8 grandchildren and good friend Mary. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the Canadian Forces serving from 1962 to 1992 as an MP and in the SIU, then working as a Commissionaire at Ogden Point. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 22, 2018 at Victoria Christian Reformed Church @ 1:00pm. Donations can be made on Dick's behalf to Vancouver Island Kidney Patient's Association.

Even when times got rough, Derk could always be counted on to work through adversity and always had a smile on his face and kinds words to pass on to everyone he knew as well, those who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him.

Sadly, I find out that Dick has passed on...my sincerest condolences..Dick and I trained together at C Pro C School back in 1962 and life just moved us apart...I always enjoyed Dick and stories about him and Lethbridge...may he rest in peace.
