What sad news. Like so many others, I thought ever so highly of Don who was my colleague at UVic for several delightful (1993-2006). We shared a passion for educational leadership and philosophy -- for ethics and aesthetics, in particular. Yes, the world has lost a fine scholar, teacher, and friend to many. Our condolences, Betty and family. Carol Harris (and Tony Berger)

My condolences to Betty, Stephen, and Mia. I remember Don well when he was posted to RRMC as the professor of Military Leadership and Management, then subsequently as family friends in Victoria. We lost track of each other over the years but I will never forget the influence he had on me and the friendship our families had while in Victoria. Rest in peace, Don. Your legacy will live on.

Great photo on this announcement of the guy whose company I missed for 30+ years. Looking at the photo, memories come alive.
I've been in line longer Don. You jumped ahead of me. See you on the other side.

Saddened to learn of Don's passing. We were pretty tight buddies when we worked together in the Directorate of Personnel Applied Research at CFHQ and NDHQ in Early 70s. Heartfelt condolences and wishes for comfort and peace, to Betty, family friends and all whose lives were touched by Don. May God grant the soul of Don eternal rest.

My condolences to Betty and Don's family. It's sad to learn of Don's passing but I'm happy to know he lived a full and satisfying life. For many years when we were both members of the Personnel Selection Branch of the Canadian Armed Forces, Don was a good friend and excellent colleague-- knowledgeable, good-natured and supportive--with whom I had many interesting and stimulating discussions. He made his mark both in the military and academia and his impact will live on in the students that he influenced.
