Donna MacLEAN Obituary

MacLEAN, Donna May June 30, 1947 - October 13, 2013 Passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 41 years by her side. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill "Mac;" daughter, Jody; son, Michael; sister, Judy; brother, Ken; and mother, Ann. Donna was predeceased by her father George Offer. A private gathering will be held. Donations may be offered to the Sooke Food Bank. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com

To the MacLean and Offer Families

I was deeply saddened to read of Donna's passing, but past thoughts of Donna brought a smile to my face.

We met in the late 60's when we were both waitresses on the Canadian Steamship Princess Marguerite. Not only did we share a cabin on board ship but we shared many laughs and became fast friends. Here we were, two young Victoria girls turned loose at night in the BIG CITY of Seattle!

One of my fondest memories of Donna was when her mom had put George on a diet. It was quite common for George to show up at the duplex on Grenville Street with the required cheese cake ingredients begging Donna to make it for him and "do not let your mom know." She obliged.

We lost touch over the years, but ran into one another in Sooke a while back and had a great time revisiting our youth.

She was such a bubbly, happy person and I am certain she will be missed.
