Donna Rockerbie Obituary
ROCKERBIE, Donna Patricia Passed away on June 9th, 2006 in Victoria. Donna was born of Irish descent to Clifford and Mary (nee Spooner) Towill on her mother's birthday on February 1, 1935 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her loving husband Russ, and sons Kirk (Deborah), Duane (Pamela) and Neil (Holli). She will be missed by her family and friends including her cherished grandchildren Shelby, Phillip, Clifford and Jordan. Also left to mourn are her sister Marie, her brothers William and Garry, and long-time close friend and journalist Mary Suchcicki in New Jersey. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Arthur and Dennis. Victoria (Broadmead) became Russ and Donna's retirement home in 1989. Donna loved to entertain on piano and guitar. She enjoyed flower gardening, tennis, golf, curling, canoeing, skiing, figure-skating, dancing, sewing, playing bridge, painting, a good mystery story, and a hearty laugh every day. She visited sights and cities worldwide with Russ, and made many lifelong friends along the way. But successfully climbing the hill of life together with Russ and family was her most satisfying achievement. Donna was an angel who came down from heaven to bring joy and happiness to her parents, to Russ and the three sons that she brought into the world, and to the many whose hearts she touched. Now she has returned. A service of remembrance will be held at Cordova Bay United Church at 813 Claremont Avenue at 2:00 PM on June 20th followed by a reception. Flowers are gratefully declined. Tributes to the Salvation Army in her memory at 3rd Floor, 777 Fort St, Victoria, V8W 1G9 will be appreciated. 258216
