Doris Truscott Obituary

Doris passed away peacefully in her 96th year at Trillium Retirement Home. She was born in Saskatchewan to Harry and Mary Creasser, who brought a fledging family to the Metchosin area, where she grew up. She loved to tell how she and her siblings roamed the beautiful forests of the area. She left home at an early age to begin a career in banking that lasted almost 20 years. In 1964, she and her husband, Lewis, moved to northern Alberta to begin farming and lived in the Peace River area for the next 40 years and returned to Metchosin in 2003.

Doris will be very much missed by her brothers, Clarence (Joyce), Ray (Elinor) and Don, (Felice), and sisters, Marjorie, and Joan (Mike) as well as many nieces and nephews, and many friends who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by Lewis in 2007 and her brother Stuart in 2022.
A memorial for Doris will be held at a later date for family members.

My condolences to the Creasser family. Doris was a well-loved member of the Metchosin community. She remained actively involved in social activities, through the Community House and the Seniors' Association. I have good memories of her interacting with international students of Pearson College, sharing her stories and her cooking skills over many visits. With her calm, positive outlook, she always volunteered to help in local events. She became a good friend of mine and will be missed.
