Dorothea HAYES Obituary
HAYES Dorothea (Dolly) Evelyn, nee Pike, aged 81, passed peacefully February 25, 2004 in Victoria, B.C. Dolly was born in Calgary and a few years later her family settled in Banff. Dolly was an academic and an expert skier, she taught skiing locally and later in Sun Valley. She also had a successful modeling career. Dolly joined the RCAF as a WAC and served in London, England for two years. Upon returning to Banff she married the love of her life, Jack Hayes. With the addition ofLee and Richard, Dolly became a loving and devoted mother. She was an active member of the community and became an avid golfer with a "sweet swing". Dolly was an accomplished business woman in her own right, both in Banff and later in Jasper. Survived by her loving son Richard, of Victoria; two grand-children, Teana and Randy, sister Peggy of Calgary and brother Richard (Marilyn) Pike of Redmond, Oregon. Dolly will be sadly missed by all who knew her, for she touched peoplewith her gentle, sweet soul, sense of humour, quiet dignity and strength. Mom was one heck of a lady!
