The good lord has taken Doug much too early. It has been a pleasure knowing Doug over the last years. Seeing him at home, heading for his camping trips and in the neighborhood showed how much he enjoyed his family and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to Lora and his family. Godspeed Doug.

I had the pleasure to work with Doug for ten year. He was such a a nice guy and always had a funny story to tell you whenever he came around to work on the computer. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I was so shocked to hear that Doug was sick. I spoke to him around Thanksgiving and we talked about my retirement and when he planned to retire. I knew him for the 19 years that we worked together. He was also so helpful, friendly and always had a smile. I'm so very sorry for your loss. He was a great guy. Keep the memories in your heart. Thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Jeff and I offer our condolences to Lora and family for their loss of Doug

I was shocked to hear of Doug's passing. My deepest condolences to all of you at this extremely difficult time.

My family (the Forbes') lived behind the Smart's on Wootten Crescent; our families had been neighbors for 55 years and grew up together.

I remember "Dougie" as a fun, kind, friendly and active little boy who was good friends with my younger brother, Dennis. They were often found around the crescent playing street hockey and riding bikes with Den's older brother, Larry, and other kids in the neighborhood. There were lots of sleepovers, picnics, play dates (although they weren't called that back then) and birthday parties. I even babysat Doug when Sharon was unavailable. I recall Mrs Smart always left out the best treats! I have nothing but happy thoughts remembering Doug and his family.

May you all find some comfort in the memories you hold dear to your heart.

love Diane St Jacques (Forbes), Larry & Dennis

I too worked with Doug. I relied on him to convince my computer that it really could do what I needed it to and he never failed me. He was always a kind, helpful, funny and all round decent human being. I feel lucky to have known him.

Lora, I'm deeply sorry for the loss you have experienced. My thoughts go out to you and your family.
