Edward Chow Obituary

CHOW, Edward Ginn It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Edward Ginn Chow who slipped away peacefully on March 30, 2018 at Victoria Hospice, in the early morning after his 86th birthday. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, May, his brothers Jon and Tom (Betty) and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Ed was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Virginia, Rose, Daisy, Pearl and brother Bill. Ed was born on March 29, 1932 in Victoria, B.C and worked as an automotive machinist at Reynolds Colgate until it closed. In Ed's youth, he enjoyed hunting and scuba diving. He also enjoyed swimming at the YM-YWCA where he was a member since 1959. Since joining in 1964, Ed was an active member of the Victoria Chinatown Lions Club. Ed held many positions through the years such as President of his own club, and was the District Governor for 19-I at the International level. To many he was also known as one of the owners of B & E Market at the corner of Fort and Cook. Brothers Bill (B) and Ed (E) worked there until it changed ownership in 1988. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Victoria Chinatown Lions c/o Treasurer Peter Yeung, 1740 Llandaff Place, Victoria, B.C. V8N 4V1 or a charity of your choice. I remember Ed very well from his days at Reynolds Colgate. As a young car nut I relied on Ed's advice and excellent machining skills for my engine building projects. He was always happy and very willing to share his knowledge with me. I will always have fond memories of Ed. My sincere condolences to his family.
