I am saddened to hear of Danny´s passing. Danny was always very enthusiastic about the sport of track and field especially about Canadian athletes and how they perform on the world stage. I always enjoyed chatting and receiving messages from Danny whenever our teams returned from international competition. His passion and love of the sport will always resonate with me. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I will miss his infectious personality.

Danny took me on as a runner a very long time ago and it was the first time I had the benefit of an expert to help me reach my goals. The training plans Danny produced for me were more intricate than any I have had since-and he did it all without asking for anything in return. I went on to have a moderately successful career as a runner and a triathlete and to this day I thank Danny for his generosity in taking me on as an athlete. He was an inspiration in all he did. Thank you Danny-no one could have lived a life more fully.

Danny was a legend and was humble about that. I met Danny when he would bring his wife, Marjorie, to our weekly tap dance class. He was an enthusiastic supporter of our little dance troupe, and we enjoyed his sophisticated sense of humour and kind nature. I attended one of Danny's singing recitals and was awed by his lovely voice. I cannot imagine this great loss for Marjorie.

I was very saddened to read in this morning Times Colonist that Danny had passed away. I worked with Danny in Ottawa and always appreciated his guidance, mentorship and friendships, especially when I first arrived in Ottawa in 1980. My sincerest condolences to Marjorie and family.
