Eileen Bichard Obituary

BICHARD, Eileen Maude Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the age of 94. Eileen (nee Steele) was born January 23, 1917 in Nepean, ON and lived most of her life in Victoria, where she met Harold (d.1997), her beloved husband of 37 years. She is predeceased by Harold, as well as her sister, Kathleen (Munroe) and brother, Ed. She will be missed by her family: nephew Bill of Victoria, nephew Alec (Brenda) of Calgary, AB, niece Brenda (Kris) of Brandon, MB, and great niece, Tamara (Kevin & great, great niece Angelina) of Victoria, as well as many long time friends. One of Eileen's greatest joys in the past few years was seeing pictures of her great nephew (Konnor) and great niece (Haylee) in Manitoba, and she was blessed to be able to have them visit in person a few weeks before her passing. Special thanks to Gloria for all the help, caring and friendship while she was still living in the house she and Harold shared. To her fellow One Wingers", whom she enjoyed social events with over the years. To the staff at Moxie's you know who you are. The Staff at the Kiwanis Pavilion who cared for her in her final days. And to Carol, who's caring and companionship over recent years meant the world to Eileen she couldn't say enough about you! Nothing made Eileen's day like a lunch out with Carol and a glass of chardonnay! As Eileen requested, a simple graveside ceremony will take place at The Veterans Cemetery "Gods Acre " Coville Rd, Esquimalt, BC. On Friday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. Donations can be made in Eileen's name to The Canadian Cancer Society 623191
