Eileen CARLSON Obituary

CARLSON, Eileen Violet (nee Peden) Born on November 9, 1920, in Victoria, passed away peacefully passing into the presence of her Lord, on November 5, 2004 aboard the Cruise Ship ms Ryndam with her daughter Sharon at her side. She was predeceased by her first husband, Stanley Day and her second husband, Michael Carlson; her brother, Gordie; her sisters, Jean and May. Mom is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Tom), Diane (Brian), Linda and Bonnie; grandchildren, Cheryl, Kelly (Dwayne), Marianne (Doug), Michael (Sandy), Lisa (Chris), Daniel (Shireen) and Damian; great-grandchildren, Izaak, Adam, Cassie, Ryder, Joshua, Caleb, Rachael, Sydney, Eachoe and Sterling; her sister, Mary Casilio (Peden); nieces, nephews and their families. A special thank you to Gordie for all of his help and assistance. She was the youngest daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Peden original owners of the former Peden's Sporting Goods Store, the family well known for their athletic abilities including Doug and Torchy Peden, in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. Eileen and her sisters, May and Mary were members of the B.C. Championship Basketball Team. She worked for many years as a Dental Assistant to Dr. B. Kjekstad and Receptionist for Dr. I. Langston for many years and was a former long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a current member of Saanich Baptist Church. A Service of Remembrance will conducted by the Reverend Norman Archer from MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on Tuesday, November 16th at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Graham and Torrey McCall Family Centre. Private interment at the Royal Oak Burial Park. Flowers are gratefully declined; tributes, if desired, may be made to the Heart Foundation of B.C., 107 1001 Cloverdale Avenue, Victoria, B.C.
