Einar Hemstad Obituary
Einar Roald Hemstad, age 90, of Sidney, British Columbia passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Born and raised on a farm in Northern Light, SK by Einar Sr. and Clara Hemstad along with several brothers and sisters.
He joined the RCMP in 1953 and then the Victoria Police Department in 1958 and retired after 30 years as the inspector in charge of the detective office.
Married with four children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Betty Hemstad, sons Larry and Harold Hemstad, daughters Linda Stocks and Cheryl Davies.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Sidney all Care for providing a peaceful and comfortable life for the last number of months.
A service in his memory will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, at 4725 Falaise Dr., on August 31st, at 2:00 pm.

Einar was one of the most honourable dedicated men I ever worked with. He was a great supervisor and most importantly a wonderful friend. His whole focus, aside from his family was to make the city safer for the citizens at large. Fond memories of our working days together abound. RIP Swede. Our condolences Betts and family.
