Elizabeth MacKINNON Obituary

With deep sadness, the family of Anne announce her passing on February 13, 2026 at the age of 94. She is survived by her son Andy Walsh, her daughter Sarah Goodyear, grandchildren Nathan (Kaitlin), James, Emma, Arianna (Nic), Matthew, Meaghan (Jon) and Kyle, and her two great grandchildren Kaden and Brooklynn. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and their families in Canada and abroad. Anne was predeceased by her husband Keith MacKinnon, her former husband Alan Walsh, her son in law Brad Goodyear, her parents Andrew and Alice Donaldson, her siblings Jean Day, David Donaldson, and their spouses. Anne was born in England, then moved with her family to Australia during the Second World War. At the conclusion of the war, her family moved to Canada and settled in the city of Brantford, Ontario. Anne was educated at Trinity College in Toronto, graduating with honors in English Language and Literature. Anne completed her post graduate Certificate in Education at Cambridge University in the UK. Anne became a teacher and her early years in teaching included time in Evesham, Worcestershire, Halifax and Toronto, before marrying and having her family. Anne was deeply involved in her church community at the Saanich Peninsula Presbyterian Church for many years as a Sunday School leader, elder, and member of session. Anne's passions included a voracious appetite for reading, a keen interest in genealogy, and a love of Scottish Country dancing. Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many people in this local community and beyond. The family would like to thank the staff at both Sunset Lodge and Rest Haven Lodge for the kind and compassionate care that they provided to Anne over the last several years.
