Elizabeth Shelton Obituary

SHELTON, Elizabeth (Betsy) Marion (nee Vallor) October 11, 1948 - March 22, 2021 Betsy passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021. Predeceased by her parents Alex and Marion Vallor. Survived by her loving husband Gerry and her dear dog Maggie, brothers Bruce (Monica) and Lyall, niece Andrea and nephew Ryan. Betsy was raised in Courtenay and started her administrative career at Malaspina College in Nanaimo, Transferred to School District. 68 and then partnered with husband Gerry in Victoria, BC in 1989 at Island Business Forms. Betsy loved her home and chasing the little white ball around Uplands Golf Course with her golf mates. Betsy visited many faraway places but never left her golf clubs at home. She touched the lives of many friends with whom she'll be long remembered. Due to COVID restrictions there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to your favourite charity. Condolences may be sent to www.mccallgardens.com

Dear Gerry
We were very sad to hear about Betsy's passing. We remember, with fondness, the brief visits we had we both of you over the years. Years ago in Bern, and more recently, at a wonderful dinner at your home in the Uplands. You were both wonderful hosts, full of humour and joy, and I remember these times with you both with pleasure. Jerry - some times life sucks bigtime, we are truly sorry to here of Betsy's passing. I can't remember a time when she was not bubbly and cheery as we we chatted on the putting green or talked in the Pro Shop. The love she had for you and Maggie was amazing. She will be missed. RIP Betsy.

A bright smile and shining light has left us. I don't ever remember Betsy without a smile on her lovely face. I enjoyed every golf game and girl parties with her. Betsy was truly a delight to be around and a darn good golfer. She will be missed. Gerry: my heart goes out to you. May you find peace in the many memories of Betsy. She was very extraordinary. I may not have known her as well as her closest friends but I certainly knew enough about her kind heart and cheery personality. Trish
