I met Aunt Fern when she came out for our wedding in 1967 in Saskatoon . After our wedding she drove back to Victoria with us on our honeymoon! Her and Uncle Tommy welcomed us into their home and treated us like their kids. She was always so ready and willing to help us out with painting our first home, scraping old wax off the hardwood floors, giving advice when we had kids. She was and will always be remembered as our Victoria mom. A wonderful lady with a lot of love to share, an awesome laugh and smile and always gave the best hugs. Our condolences to Brenda, Gus, Sharon, Audrey and families. Love Rene and Terry

Brenda, Gus, Sharon & Audrey: I'm so sad about your Mum's passing and will miss our calls and occasional meetings at Thrifty's or Cdn. Tire over the years. She always had snippets of information on all of her 34 descendants, citing names and ages. We recalled picnics in your yard in Kitimat, parties in the Darwin St. rec room ... she and Tommy were wonderful friends to Mum & Dad. I'm grateful that she was a part of my life for almost 70 years - she was a wonderful woman and a genuine wonder... I still use one of the Covid masks she whipped up for everyone in her 90's! Sincere condolences to you all from myself and Bobbie.

Fern was a lovely and gentle grandma who clearly loved her family and doted over her grandchildren. I was my privilege to know her.

My husband Peter and myself met Tom and Fern when we moved into the mobile home park in July 1995, the truck had just finished unloading all the furniture and was leaving. We were taking the dog for a little walk when Tom called us over to have a drink with him and Fern, that was the start of a wonderful friendship. They said welcome to the park and made us feel so welcome a day i will never forget, Peter passed away in 2017 of lung cancer and Fern helped me through a really tough time in my life a wonderful neighbor for 25year. Would invite us and anyone who would like to join her on her deck for chats and a drink if you wanted one such a heart of gold. Gone but never forgotten you were one in a million Rest In Peace Fern. Missed always

A wonderful neighbor for 32 years. She was the "Mom of the Hood". Invited all to join her on the front deck of her home for a visit. And we all did. She was the glue that held everyone together. RIP Fern. You will be missed by all.
