Florence L. M McCarthy

April 11, 1938 - December 23, 2025

Florence Leola Margaret McCarthy, fondly known as Leola, passed away peacefully at her home on December 23, 2025. Born April 11, 1938, Leola lived a life full of love, resilience, and cherished memories.

Raised in a pioneering family on the Saanich Peninsula, Leola had a passion for travel and gardening. She enjoyed exploring new places as a passenger, delighting in the scenery and company. Throughout her life, she maintained close bonds with many lifelong friends, some from her school days. She was lovingly cared for in her final years by her longtime dear friend, Rod Conner.

Leola was a devoted mother who lovingly raised three lively sons while balancing a career at BC Tel. Her journey took her to Protection Island, Nanaimo, and finally to Mill Bay, where she found her forever home.

She is survived by her son Brian Robinson and his partner Brenda; grandchildren David Lee Robinson (and wife Ashley), Chris Robinson, Randy Robinson (and wife Michelle), Mikaela Patterson, and Shawn Robinson; as well as great-grandchild Lucas Robinson. The family and friends who loved her will deeply miss her warmth and spirit.

Leola was predeceased by her parents Willard and Florence Michell, her brother Maurice Michell, and her sons David and Alan Robinson.

In keeping with Leola's wishes, no formal service will be held. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
