Florence WATSON Obituary

Lola, a beautiful bright light, spread sunshine to those fortunate to call her family or friend. Born January 22, 1928 in Vancouver, moving to Victoria in 1952, she passed away, peacefully, with dignity and grace, with her hair done just right, in the presence of her 4 "boys", on April 10, 2022.

Lola's social super power allowed her to sprinkle happiness on everyone around her. She greatly enjoyed her Blue Jays, mystery novels, fancy shoes, keeping up on current affairs and closely following fashion trends! Her sense of humour, ever-present smile and copious questions greeted her family on every phone call or home visit. She revelled in the accomplishments of family and had an amazing memory for details, even after they had faded for others. If you wanted to know what was going on, just ask mom. Anyone who met her felt special.

Lola, was the loving wife of William Barry Watson, who shared many adventures together, including travelling the world, daily walks and hosting delicious dinner parties, until his passing in 2014. She was a very proud mom to Ron (Cheryl Travis), Dean (Cheryl Nerada), Keith (Linda) and Jack (Denise) Watson and a very special Grandma to 8 grandchildren and GG to 10 great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her parents and beloved brother Bill, who teased her as only a little brother could. Lola, was adored by her many nieces and nephews who kept in touch over the years. Many friends, including her neighbour Lila and sister-in law Evelyn, remember her as loyal, caring and kind.

Your work is done dear Lola, we promise to stay connected as you would want. You can rest in love.

We'll never forget the wonderful time we had with Lola & Barry on our cruise to Hawaii, we met in the line-up going onto the ship, and became close friends from then on.
Thank you for the good times.
