Frank Veerkamp Obituary

VEERKAMP, Frank
January 7, 1938 - December 15, 2025

In Loving Memory

Frank Veerkamp, lovingly known as Opa, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on January 7, 1938, in Rijswijk, Netherlands, and lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and quiet strength. He worked at Eatons for over 25 years and worked at the BC Archives. Frank was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Erika Veerkamp, and a proud father to his son Michael (Donna) and daughter Sonja (Rudy). He was a cherished Opa to his grandchildren: Colin (Shantel), Natasha (Danny), Christopher (Dru), Jayleen, Tarissa, Shyanne and Jenna, and a treasured Old Opa to Brynlee and Henry. Family was the center of Frank's life. He took great pride in those he loved and found joy in spending time together, sharing stories, and passing down traditions. His steady presence, gentle wisdom, and caring heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Frank will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and the love he gave so freely to his family. Though he is deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape. He will forever remain in our hearts - loved beyond words and remembered always.
Frank spent his last few years of life at Selkirk Seniors Village. We would like to thank the care staff for the care and compassion.

There will be a Funeral Mass led by Father John Domotor at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 849 Old Esquimalt Road on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 12:10 pm.

Frank was an assistant Mgr. @ Eaton's when I was hired in 1970. I moved on to work in the Prov. Gov't, marry and raise a family. In the mid 1980's I visited Frank at Eaton's Tillicum and he hired me back as a part time employee. Frank was a lovely person. Always cheerful and kind no matter the situation. Condolences to family

My sincere condolences to the Veer Kamp family. My Dad Bob Frayne worked with Frank at Eaton's, so long ago. I was able to pop in and say "hi" to Frank when I was at Selkirk. RIP Frank.
