Fraser LUNDEN Obituary

Gary passed away peacefully at home on March 3rd with his loving wife, Maureen, and daughter, Laurie, at his side.
He was predeceased by his parents, Omer and Ruby, and his daughter, Ashli. He will be sadly missed by Laurie and grandsons, Tadhg, Kai and Finn, brother Duane (Katherine), Maureen and sons, Todd, Matt and their families, and many dear friends.
Gary was born in Viking, Alberta and raised in Frog Lake, Alberta and Vancouver. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage. Gary's work experiences included marketing, consulting, sales, public relations and directorships.
Wherever Gary lived he was always involved in the community and was a friend to anyone he met. While a resident of Victoria Gary volunteered with the Royal B.C. Museum as founding Chair of the Fannin Foundation. As a member of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Victoria, he helped establish a chapter of AIESEC at UVIC. Retirement and family needs brought him back to Victoria from WallaWalla, Washington in 2017.
Gary's biggest desire in life was to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Special thanks to Dr. Greg Rideout, staff from the BC Cancer Agency, Victoria Hospice and Island Health Home Care. In lieu of flowers a donation in Gary's name to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. There will be no memorial service as a Celebration of Gary's Life was held earlier in Gary's presence.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Gary´s passing. Gary and I first came together for work in 2013, and from the very beginning, I had the privilege of sharing many wonderful memories with him. Though I was in my mid-twenties at the time, Gary never let age or experience be a barrier-he took me under his wing, teaching me so much, both professionally and personally.

Together, we became a power team in the senior industry, and through our work, I grew to value not just his mentorship but his genuine friendship. Even after he moved in 2017 and we lost touch, Gary left me with an open invitation to visit him in Victoria-a place he always said I would love.

"Garebear," as his kids affectionately called him, has never left my heart. I was always amazed by the warmth and generosity of his friendship. Today, I finally found the courage to look him up, only to be heartbroken to see his obituary. Yet, I am comforted to know that he found happiness again and was remarried.

Gary made a lasting impact on my life, and I will always remember him with gratitude and affection. I hope that one day, when my own journey comes to an end, our paths will cross again. Until then, peace to you, my friend.

With deepest sympathy,
Karla Mares-Rojas

My sincere condolences. Gary and I spoke last week and reminisced about our days with Sales & Marketing Executives of Victoria and the past President´s luncheon seven of us attended a couple of years ago. His perpetual smile will always be with us.
