Gary, It has been hard and at times lonely. I know you are at rest and have peace finally after your struggle the last two years.Anna and Andrea came to visit in June and when her Mom went back home, Anna and I kept up a favourite activity of our family..her and I went on a road trip up island and had great fun. Molly's birth was long awaited by Bruce and Jill, and she was only an hour old when we took you up to see her. How proud they were and so grateful that you saw her. I love you and miss you.

Linda, Bruce, Jill, Molly and Anna. My heart aches for all of you. Gary always made me feel like I mattered in this world. He was a great person. We've lost a very giving soul. He was so proud of his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren. You were everything to him His love and acceptance of animals was so beautiful. His gardening always amazed me. I can still remember when we played ball together that he told me I was pretty good for a girl. He will be a light from heaven now and will be beside you always. May Gary hit homeruns from heaven and have a yard full of beautiful flowers and vegetables like he did here on earth. He'll have great company with those he loved that departed before him. Much love, Cheryl

Linda and Bruce, my sincerest condolences. I am very saddened to hear of your loss. It has been a difficult couple of years and you have both been very stoic through it all. I saw first hand how much he loved his boys and would do anything for them. I also fondly remember how clean he would keep that swimming pool in the backyard. Those were good times and great memories.

Linda and Bruce,
I am very sorry to read of Gary's death! It was a real pleasure and privilige in getting to know the Dixon family when Bruce and Stephen worked for me. Gary and Linda, you always stopped by to show your never ending support and love for your sons. As a father Gary was always supporting the boys in whatever venture they pursued!Sports, jobs, family life. Linda and Bruce and all your family, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you remember the struggles these last few years, but there are so many good memories of both Gary and Stephen to go forward with! May you always know they were loved and respected by many, as they returned those qualities given to them throughout their lives! Thanks for all the great memories Bruce. May you be as good a Dad to your daughter as Gary was a Dad for you and Stephen.

Gary was a great guy and the best neighbor one could ask for. I have fond memories of many conversations over the fence on Dalhousie St. Myself, Dave, Dan and Kayla were all sad to hear of his passing but know he is at peace now.

Dad the last few years were a challenge, for both you personally and the family. You fought a long hard battle as well as you could, fighting to hang on to meet your new grand-daughter Molly, for this I am grateful. It was very important to me that you meet her. Despite these recent struggles, what I hope in time that I remember is all the years you coached Stephen and myself in sports, or the support you gave from the sidelines. Playing sports were our life, and you were at every game. There were countless hours of playing catch or kicking the soccer ball around the backyard. I would like to give you some credit for the golf but alas you and I both know that you had nothing to do that,ha ha anyone who golfed with my dad will agree. However without your support, which was always appreciated, neither of us would have experienced the success or lifes that we did.
I loved our family vacations whether we were doing a road trip down the coast or going to Europe with Stephen's soccer team. I have fond memories of our trips to Las Vegas and your inappropriate legendary comment that shall now rest in peace alongside you.
I hope you are at peace, life was far too difficult for you the last few years and be rest assured I will do whatever I can to help Mom.
I will miss you
Love Bruce

Dear Linda and Bruce. I am so very sad to hear of Gary's passing. We've been friends since elementary, junior high and high school at Oak Bay. As kids Barbara Vickery, Gary and I hung out together and has such fun. As we all know, Jaycees was the very best time, where we spend endless hours working at the Jaycee fair, learning effective speaking, conventions and making friends that last forever. Those years can't be duplicated, how special it was for all of us in that family bond of friendship, hard work and many laughs! Linda and Bruce please know that your Gary was a very special friend who I will always have in my heart.

Linda I worked with Gary at Eaton Financial Services over 40 years ago. I was so saddened to read of his death yesterday. As a very recent widow I know the pain you will go through as you continue with your life. My deepest sympathy.

Gary was a good soccer player and star striker at Willows School that's why we nicknamed him 'Dynamite' Dixon.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Gary and as a boy spent a lot of time with my Aunt Linda and Uncle Gary. When Bruce and Steve came along, I felt like a big brother and was equally proud of the boys as they grew. I hope my Dad is there now for his little brother, rest in peace Uncle Gary and thanks for being there for me when I was a young boy.

Life and living had become a huge struggle. He loved his family, was so excited to have his beautiful grand-daughters Anna and Molly. We loved to travel as a family and missed this in the later years. Bruce and Stephen were what we both lived for and loved following them as they excelled in their sports. God bless you and peace be with you. All my love Linda
