George ADAM Obituary

On May 6th, 2022, at age 82, George finished his Life Journey at Royal Jubilee Hospital surrounded by his loved ones, who cracked many a joke to him, as his humour was unmatched and always appreciated. He was born in Paisley, Scotland November 13th, 1939. He was the last survivor of his Paisley Buddies, and is survived in Canada by his wife, Dorothy; children Gillian, Kevin and wife Tania; beloved grandchildren Iona, Skyelar, and Leo; and in Scotland by his sister Betty and husband Charlie & family; and his cousin Edward.
He met Dorothy in a dance hall (despite him being a terrible dancer), and they married February 9th 1963. They immigrated to Vancouver in 1966, where daughter Gillian was welcomed into the world in 1969. They then moved to Victoria in 1971, where son Kevin joined the party in 1976. George worked for the Provincial Government as a Business Machine Technician and then as a Purchasing Agent for 22 years until he retired in 1997 which inducted him into the T Boy Retirees lunch group. His life achievements were vast, some highlights being: he was on pension for 25 years (something he'd mention quite proudly), shook Count Basie's hand, saw a UFO, held a consecutive (and LOUD) sneezing record of 27, and won nearly every one of his daily scratch & win BINGOs.
Our family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of Third Floor South in Royal Jubilee. You made him so comfortable in his final moments, and we are forever grateful.
Cremation with no service, by George's wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
