CLARE, George
December 7, 1943 - April 14, 2025
We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of George Clare on April 14, 2025 in his home in Metchosin, BC, with his wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Diana; children Dan (Tracy), Matt (Sherri), and Susan (Jeff); grandchildren Troy (Afton), Teera (Yvan), Rachel (Ty), Kyle, Jason, Eve, Ben, Patrick and Donald; great-grandchildren Zach, Uri, Bryce, Eli, Clare, Finn, Grace, Holden, and Theo; sisters Joan (John), and Kathy (Alan); sister-in-law Trudie (Bill); nephews John (Denise), Jamie (Ronnie), Chris, Darryl (Tanya); as well as many other extended family and friends.
George was a strong, hardworking man who loved the outdoors; he would hike, fish, hunt tend to his farm and his animals; but more than that, he was also a caring, loving man who valued his family more than anything in the world. He is remembered also for having a great sense of humour, and for always being grateful for everything he had. He is gone far too soon…but we are so grateful that he is no longer dealing with diminishing health, and is now safe in his heavenly home.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers on 7A and 7B at Victoria General Hospital for all their wonderful care of George, and to Dr. Rabien for his care of George in years past.
There will be a Celebration of Life for George at the Colwood Church (2250 Sooke Rd, Victoria, BC V9B 1X1) at 2pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025, with reception to follow. To leave a condolence, please visit sandscolwood.ca
