George SADDLETON Obituary
SADDLETON, George Sidney February 12, 1933 October 16, 2011 Sadly, after his struggle with Cancer, George passed away peacefully. His last few days were so much more comfortable because of the care of the Hospice Staff and Volunteers at the Jubilee Hospital. George is survived by his wife Lois of 52 years, Daughter, Donna (Paul) of the U.K. Son Dave (Theresa) of Chemainus. Grandchildren, Mike (Erika), Melissa (Adam) and Connor. Great-grandchildren Riley, Arianna Alexandra, and Charlie. George has two sistersKay in Vancouver, and Dot in Langley, several nieces and nephews. George began a long career with International Harvester Trucks in Vancouver, transferring with his family to the Victoria Branch in 1965. The Branch became a dealership and George stayed on as the Parts Manager for Len Barkley International. Gardening was a passion and his garden was always his pride. He also discovered Fishing and Cruising in our Gulf Islands and spent many happy summers with his family on the C-Breeze " and later the "Clamchop " cruising to the many island destinations. George supported the Legion and was involved in the Poppy drives the last few years at the Sidney Branch. Special thanks go to Karen and Lisa with Palliative care in Sidneyyou gave us so much reassurance every time you visited.
