Gerald Stinson Obituary

STINSON, Gerald (Jerry)
May 14, 1939 to February 9, 2026
Jerry was born in Hamiota, Manitoba, and at the age of 3 he arrived in Victoria. He lived in the family home all his life. He never married and died of a massive stroke in Victoria General Hospital with his long time partner, Susan by his side.
Jerry was pretty much self educated, with an inquisitive, creative mind with strong opinions on most subjects and he let you know! Climate control and environmental issues were very important to him such as preservation of space for leisure and protection of wild life.
While rough on the outside he had a kind heart on the inside. Jerry lived a long life and was content to be going on to the next adventure and we are happy for him.
According to his wishes there will not be any service.

Gerry was a neighbour and old Foul Bay friend who I knew since the 40´s. In later years, if I saw him working in his front yard I would stop and we would reminisce about the old days and mutual acquaintances. I remember when he was a kid he had a model train setup in his basement that was the envy of all the local kids. Always a good guy. Adios my friend.

Jerry was a part of our family when he and my mother dated for a few years and a friend of our larger family as well. We enjoyed his humour and kindnesses. He made us all something
from wood, which we still have today. He loved the ocean and we loved his stories. Onto the next chapter. RIP Jerry!
