Gilda Qualizza Obituary

QUALIZZA, Gilda Denise Nov. 7, 1936 Feb. 25, 2007 Sadly, and after a courageous struggle with cancer, passed away on February 25, 2007, in the comforting environment of her home. She was cared for and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years, Antonio Marcello, and their family, Tonino, Marcel, Beverly, Giustina, Matteo, Aidan and of course, Kayla. She will be missed by family and friends here in British Columbia, in Italy and France, and in her birth place, Belgium, where her brother, two sisters and their families live. She and Antonio moved to BC from Belgium in 1959 in search of an opportunity for abundance and fulfillment. While she would say that she achieved her goals, those of us who were fortunate to know her recognize that she gave much more than she ever took. Denise, mum, nonna, throughout your life you touched the lives of many people, young and old, and made them better. You were no stranger to working hard, thinking of others first, and unconditionally giving of yourself for your family, friends and acquaintances. You saw the best in people and always had hope for good things. The world will forever be a better place because you walked it. To everyone who knew her, was touched by her life, or are blessed by what she has left behind, please join our family for a simple celebration of her life on March 2, 2007 at 1pm at St. Joseph's Parish located at 785 Burnside West, to be followed by internment at Royal Oak Cemetery and Crematorium, 4673 Falaise. In lieu of flowers, donations to the cancer foundation of your choice will be greatly appreciated by our family. 344163
