Gordon STEWARDSON Obituary

STEWARDSON, Gordon Patrick March 31, 1962 - March 29, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Gordon was raised in Victoria and attended Monterey Elementary school, Oak Bay High school where he was Valedictorian of his graduating class, and the University of Victoria. During his teen years he was introduced to the church and at age 15 he became a Christian. He married Kathleen and they lived in several locations over the years. Gordon's career path included pastoring (becoming an ordained pastor in the Church of the Nazarene), teaching, accounting, and human resources - he enjoyed variety. In Oct. 2012 Gordon was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he passed at the age of 50 years. His strong relationship with God and family continued to be his strength and joy during these past difficult months as it had been throughout his lifetime. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, children Joshua (Kendall), Bethany Webber (Greg), and Paul. Also by his grandsons Judah and Asher. Parents George, Merle, and Hilary Stewardson. Siblings Glenn (Tracy) and LeeAnn Louis (Greg). Nieces and nephews Grace, Paige, Quinn, Tyden, and Colter. His bright smile, mind, gentle spirit and enthusiastic attitude will always be remembered. Memorial service was held on April 1 in Abbotsford. Condolences to the family at [email protected]"> [email protected]

I am in shock. It is a great loss. I fondly remember my interactions with Gordon at Oak Bay High I only wish I was able to have spoken with him again.

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. He was a good friend during high school and university. thank you, Joshua for posting his last sermon. It was wonderful to see and hear him again. He hasn't changed in all those years. My deepest condolences to all the family.

Dad told me of Gordon's death this afternoon and ever since I have felt such sadness. In those early days of Monterey and into Oak Bay, Gordon was like another brother to me.
